Who is Dedicated to "Keep Clogging Strong!?"
By Nate Moller

HELP - Clogging is Ready for the Next Level

Have you ever wondered why clogging isn't as well known as other dance forms? What's held clogging back? Through research, we believe we've found one small problem: procrastination!

A quote states, "The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up." While most of us do not intentionally fall behind, procrastination often slows clogging dance progression. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines procrastination as "Intentionally putting off what should be done."

Who's to say that clogging can't stand with the likes of tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, or other dance forms. Are we all doing our part to promote clogging? When's the last time you invited a non-clogger friend to one of your dance practices? The reasons that people tend to procrastinate or put things off are as diverse as the tasks that they put off. In the end, most tasks are delayed due to one reason; we perceive that performing the task will be worse than the consequence of putting it off. We can't be afraid to promote clogging! The longer we procrastinate, the longer it will take for clogging to be highly recognized as we all know it should.

Many of us can relate to the following example. Remember a time when you had a clogging competition or performance coming up in two weeks. Now remember the midnight oil you burnt the night before reviewing the dances over and over? Why did you wait? Maybe you decided to hang out with your friends, maybe you had to work, and maybe it was something else. Regardless of the reason, you decided that taking the time to critique the dances and sharpen them up would be worse than spending all night the day before the big event.
